Job Overview: A law firm in San Francisco is seeking a skilled Tax Attorney to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience advising clients on corporate tax matters, handling complex transactions, and providing litigation support.

Job Duties:

  • Advise clients on general corporate matters and manage taxation issues related to cross-border and domestic M&A, equity capital markets transactions, reorganizations, joint ventures, restructurings, financing transactions, and international tax planning.
  • Draft partnership and LLC operating agreements focusing on tax implications.
  • Provide support on tax litigation matters, collaborate with litigation teams on tax controversy cases, and assist in structuring settlements tax-efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Tax Attorney at an AmLaw 100 law firm or in-house with a reputable company.
  • Graduated from a top-tier law school or demonstrated an outstanding legal industry reputation.
  • Strong interest in autonomy over practice while collaborating with attorneys across corporate, fintech, real estate, and litigation practices.
  • Desire to work with high-profile clients and leverage the firm's support, network, and brand.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California (preferred).

Skills:

  • Exceptional knowledge of corporate taxation, including transactional tax law and international tax planning.
  • Strong drafting skills for legal documents such as partnership agreements and litigation settlements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
