Sourcing Officer The candidate is responsible for overseeing activities for bank relating to the acquisition of goods and services on behalf of business units across bank. Responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS disciplines and behaviors. Negotiates and reviews assigned more-straightforward major contracts on behalf of bank. Identifies business and legal risks as well as risk mitigating factors and reports findings to senior management. Maintains working knowledge of state-of-the-art and industry standard terms, best practices, conditions and negotiation points. Advises project teams and senior management on contract interpretation and deal points. Facilitates the acquisition of goods and services by managing the vendor review process from problem identification through contract execution. Reviews requests for proposals; acts as primary contact for vendor team; maintains subject matter expertise on relevant products, vendors, industries, pricing, and technology. Consults with and educates managers on vendor selection and management. Develops enterprise wide programs to manage vendor risk and enhance shareholder value by identifying opportunities to reduce expense through the purchasing process.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree, Purchasing Professional Certification, or equivalent work experience. Major in science, technology, business or other business-related major is preferred. Juris Doctor degree from accredited institution is preferred. Should have 4+ years of purchasing/vendor management experience in positions of increasing responsibility, or equivalent work experience, with 2+ years of significant contract negotiation experience, complex contract administration, or similar responsibilities. Should have working knowledge of software/hardware technology from a procurement perspective and of labor/liability issues. Juris Doctor and 1+ year of negotiating/drafting complex contracts; completion of a two year paralegal program and at least two years of complex contract work including drafting contracts and understanding standard legal terms, interpreting ambiguities, defining specialized terms and/or drafting complex covenants and clauses, etc.; or at least four years of sales experience requiring the negotiation and/or understanding and explanation of complex and variable contract provisions. Should have proficiency and expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) or similar software. Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar software is preferred. Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems is essential.
