In-House Employment And Commercial Litigation Attorney
The candidate will provide expert and pragmatic advice to human resources and business leaders on all aspects of employment law and support the litigation team in managing a diverse portfolio of commercial litigation matters. Employment Law Advice. Provide legal advice to HR and business leaders regarding all aspects of employment law (hiring, discipline, termination, wage & hour, reasonable accommodation, leaves of absence, employee benefits, employment policies and training). Employment Litigation. Provide legal advice and manage outside counsel with respect to internal investigations, administrative agency charges and employment litigation matters. Identify key employment litigation developments that may impact CMEG and coordinate with Legal, Compliance, HR and other divisions to ensure the risks are understood and mitigated to the extent possible. Commercial Litigation. Provide legal advice and manage outside counsel with respect to: internal investigations and audits; subpoenas and document requests from various federal and state regulatory authorities, including the CFTC, SEC and DOJ; subpoenas in connection with third-party litigation and commercial litigation matters. Must have Admitted to practice in the state of Illinois or New York. Should have 3+ years of employment law experience at a law firm or in-house legal department; a combination of law firm and in-house experience strongly preferred. Must have experience drafting, negotiating and implementing employment related agreements and policies. Must have experience managing cross border matters. Should have experience handling administrative charges and litigation from start to finish. Must have excellent research, drafting, analytical and written and verbal communications skills. Knowledge of financial regulations and regulatory frameworks preferred.
