Paralegal Trainee
The candidate will be responsible for handling and processing client documents and projects under the supervision and direction of Attorneys and/or Paralegal Staff. Takes direction from attorneys and/or paralegals on various projects and compiles written documentation as needed.
Organizes and maintains documents in clients’ files. Prepares drafts of documentation and correspondence for review. Distributes documentation as instructed. Communicates in writing and verbally to clients and other counsel. Organizes, enters and maintains documents into automated document management and/or database systems. Arranges for reproduction of documents. Checks photocopies of all documents to insure they are correct and complete. Performs unscheduled deliveries to various courts, law firms and clients. Performs data entry into LegalKEY and prepares files for storage. Prepares documents for scanning. Sorts documents in chronological order. Enters time and descriptions into DTE and release it on a daily basis. The above items represent major responsibilities of this position. Additional responsibilities may be included in order to respond to a changing environment and the Firm’s needs.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Paralegal Certificate from a qualified educational institution or Bachelor’s degree. Ability: Ability to deal professionally with both internal and external clients on all levels. Ability to organize work in relation to priority and re-prioritize based on changing deadlines and project requirements. Ability to effectively communicate with attorneys and clients verbally and through written correspondence, letters of instruction, memos, etc. Ability to organize large amounts of data into an efficient system (both electronic and hardcopy) for easy filing and retrieval. Proven ability to learn quickly, paying close attention to detail.Ability to deal with repetitive and sometimes tedious tasks. Requires the ability to regularly report to work on the days and times scheduled.
