Bilingual Legal Assistant The candidate duties include: Calendar deadlines and making sure they are met. Assist attorneys with administrative tasks. Assist Spanish speaking clients with forms, etc. Check court rules and civil procedure to ensure compliance. Draft templates for letters, pleadings, motions, and discovery. Edit, format, and finalize MS Word documents. File documents in court. Order and subpoena medical records, CHP reports, employment records. Schedule depositions, court hearings, client meetings. Understand how personal injury cases progress and plan ahead. Assist in responding and drafting discovery. Assist in trial preparation.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish, have paralegal certification and/or college degree with a minimum of 3+ years of legal office experience, must be able to work independently, is detail-oriented, keeps attorneys organized, is articulate, and has a good attitude. High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat is required. Experience with Meruscase, LawToolBox, dealing with Medicare, MediCal, and private insurance carriers is a plus.
