Summer Clerkship Program 2019 The Law clerk will join Tax Division: The Tax Division represents the Department of Revenue in all matters related to collecting taxes. It also represents a wide variety of other agencies including the Board of Professional Responsibility, the Board of Law Examiners, the Commission on Continuing Legal Education, the Tennessee Regulatory Authority, the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, and many of the regulatory boards of the Department of Commerce and Insurance. Law clerks will be assigned to one or two divisions. Assignments will include research; drafting of memoranda, motions, and briefs; preparing for depositions; etc. Each clerk will have a supervising attorney who will be in charge of assigning work to the clerk and who, along with the other attorneys and staff in a division, will be available for feedback. Will have the opportunity to attend moot courts, oral arguments, and other events that are listed on clerk’s calendar, both for their assigned division(s) and other divisions in the office. Dates: May 20-June 28 and July 1-August 9
