Attorney The candidate will be working directly with Developer Tools executives, engineers, program managers, and business development to analyze legal risks, devise creative solutions, and develop strong, trusted advisor relationships. Providing proactive counseling on intellectual property licensing, including open source software licensing, privacy, accessibility, and antitrust. Drafting and negotiating a wide range of custom and standard contracts and other legal documents. Extensive and close collaboration with teammates, other legal professionals across Microsoft, and senior level clients on cross-company initiatives and transactions. Training clients on relevant legal issues, policies, and processes.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a JD degree or equivalent and a license to practice law in the U.S. Must have 6+ years of experience as a practicing attorney. Some background in the technology industry and/or some familiarity with developer tools a plus. Excellent analytical and communication skills and the ability to effectively balance legal risks against business interests and find creative solutions to legal issues.
