Logistics Management Specialist Duties: The candidate will prepare interpretive and implementing guidance in the logistics area for subordinate elements. Will analyze data and prepare reports on logistics programs including supply, transportation maintenance, and logistics services. Identify systemic and specific problem areas in logistics operations, determine and recommend appropriate corrective action and provide evaluation of progress and impact to the Commander and staff. Assist in actual aspects of the Logistics Management Program by providing necessary feeder data and performing some of the less complex coordinating and executing logistical requirements. Review purchase requests for acquisition of supplies and services, initiate acquisitions, and recommend actions for contracting.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: The candidate must have 1 year of specialized experience which includes work that involves knowledge of command logistical procedures to make analysis of equipment and facilities to support logistical operations; advising supervisor of command logistics status to ensure customer support; assisting with staff visits; property accountability, rendering assistance for resolution of logistical problems; and knowledge of logistical plans for proper utilization and procedures for direction of policy concerning movement of supplies and equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management Degrees.
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
