Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Attorney to join its sophisticated estate planning and trust administration practice in Hartford, CT. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled attorney to work with high-net-worth clients on long-term estate planning strategies, as well as with institutional clients and organizations on fiduciary administration. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in estate tax planning, probate processes, and preparing tax returns for estates and trusts.

Location:

  • Hartford, Connecticut

Duties:

  • Develop and implement estate planning strategies for high-net-worth clients
  • Draft estate planning documents for a variety of estates, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
  • Handle all aspects of the probate process, including post-mortem estate and tax planning
  • Prepare estate tax returns and trust and estate income tax returns
  • Advise institutional clients, closely-held businesses, and charitable organizations on fiduciary administration
  • Provide strategic guidance on legal and tax complexities related to trusts and estates
  • Work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment to resolve complex legal matters

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of experience in Trusts & Estates law
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients in estate planning and administration
  • Knowledge of estate tax planning, fiduciary administration, and related tax returns
  • Experience advising institutional clients and closely-held or charitable organizations
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility
  • Active membership in good standing with the Connecticut bar (required)
  • Admission to Massachusetts and/or New Hampshire bars (preferred)

Education:

  • . from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing of the Connecticut bar (required)
  • Admission to Massachusetts and/or New Hampshire bars (preferred)
