Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on employment-related compliance matters, including worker classification, wage and hour issues, immigration, unions, collective bargaining, employment policies, and handbooks.
  • Draft and review employment agreements, separation agreements, and restrictive covenants.
  • Guide reductions-in-force and WARN Act issues.
  • Conduct employment-related diligence and handle employment-related representations and covenants in transaction documents.
  • Develop and implement strategies for compliance with equal opportunity laws.
  • Collaborate with clients to address and resolve employment law disputes and issues.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on developments in employment law.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on employment law topics as needed.
  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure alignment on legal strategies and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of employment law experience at a nationally recognized law firm.
  • Proven expertise in advising clients on employment-related compliance, including worker classification, wage and hour issues, immigration, unions and collective bargaining, employment policies and handbooks, and equal opportunity laws.
  • Experience in drafting employment agreements, separation agreements, and restrictive covenants.
  • Familiarity with reductions-in-force, WARN Act issues, and employment-related diligence in transaction documents is a plus.
  • Must be a member in good standing of the Illinois Bar.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar, with membership in good standing.
