Corporate Counsel - Substance Abuse and Mental Health The candidate will assist with the drafting, review and revision of contracts in accordance with the Company’s legal and business requirements. Will draft and revise correspondence and other legal documents. Perform research and analysis of legal matters and drafts memorandum of law. Research relevant statutes, rulings and regulations to be used as a basis for answering requests for legal opinions and company policies. Assist in addressing legal, regulatory and compliance issues. Assist with the drafting of policies and procedures for the company and its affiliates. Assist with compliance monitoring for the Legal Department or other business units as requested. Provide counsel to management within the company. Negotiate with outside parties on contractual issues and legal disputes. Coordinate and manages outside counsel litigation. Maintain complete confidentiality in all matters relating to the Legal Department. Should have 1-3 years of litigation/transactional experience. Previous experience providing support to an in-house legal department or corporate client is preferred. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with people of all levels of the organization. Should possess excellent computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite) and will be highly motivated and interested in multiple areas of law. Must be a graduate from an ABA accredited law school with a JD degree. Must be a member, in good standing, of the California State Bar.
