Bankruptcy Legal Assistant The candidate reviews new referrals and assists attorneys in determining necessary course of action. Prepares bankruptcy pleadings, notices and letters, and submits for attorney and client review. This may include Motions for Relief, Proofs of Claim, Objections to Plan, Reaffirmation Agreements or Notice of Default referrals. Examines related foreclosure files(s) for title, status and milestone information. Updates client websites daily. May electronically file pleadings. Schedules attorneys to appear at hearings. Contact with clients, attorneys and trustees. Notifies clients of new bankruptcy filings and bankruptcy dismissals. Closes and bills all bankruptcy files.Preferably should possess a College Degree. Possess 1-3 years bankruptcy knowledge. Some foreclosure knowledge preferred.
