Associate Counsel, Global Employment, Benefits and Labor Law The candidate will provide labor/employment-related legal advice and support for assigned countries, including employment agreements, individual terminations and group redundancies, disciplinary matters, grievances, workplace investigations, employee policies, enforcement of post-termination covenants and confidentiality obligations, international employee transfers, and whistleblower complaints. Provide legal advice and support for firm’s equity, annual corporate bonus, and global sales compensation plans. Provide legal support related to HR issues in M&A activity and third-party outsourcing/contingent workers; conduct employment/benefits due diligence. Support outside counsel and senior internal lawyers concerning employment litigation in assigned countries and/or assigned subject matter areas and for other employment related litigation/administrative/regulatory matters. Monitor employment/labor legislation and governmental regulatory activities in assigned countries and advise on developments that may or will affect the organization. Prepare and deliver employment law training to HR and other areas of the business. Must have 5+ years of practicing experience preferred, including experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, with demonstrated legal expertise in labor/employment law. Should have Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited school of law, and admittance to at least one U.S. state bar with a strong preference for Colorado admission, or willingness and ability to be admitted to the Colorado bar or otherwise certified to practice law in Colorado. 1+ year of legal experience in U.S. and international employment/labor law is required. Ability to build relationships with various internal functional areas to ensure that the legal function is an integral part of the overall HR/business unit team in order to maximize the effectiveness of the function's support is must. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Adobe PDFs is required. Some experience with social media is preferred. Some experience in statistical analysis is desired.
