The candidate will serve as the Document Review Services Program Director. Will be responsible for service delivery oversight of all document review projects for one or more clients. Also responsible for the development and growth of client relationships through effective project management, coordination, execution, quality, and acting as the direct escalation point of contact. Responsible for mentoring, developing, and providing training opportunities for the team. Represent the mission, vision, and values of Epiq and will exhibit exemplary professional behavior across all spheres of the Epiq business. They will support the Document Review Services leadership in providing the appropriate level of consultation and expertise. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client(s). Develop and maintain account playbooks and standards. Actively provide substantive oversight to client-specific projects. Conduct project scoping calls and consult with clients on the development and implementation of efficient and effective workflows. Determine and manage client expectations regarding deliverables and timeframes. Draft workflow protocols and substantive training guidelines in partnership with client(s) and case teams. Assist with the creation of project estimates for new matters. Participate in relevant client business reviews. Oversee use of the appropriate technology to improve productivity and accuracy, including the use of structured and conceptual analytics such as email threading, near-duplicate identification, and clustering. Consult on the application of artificial intelligence to identify documents for review and manage review teams whose review will be used to build algorithms and models. Execute quality control and quality assurance best practices, including the use of statistical sampling, advanced searching techniques, and the application of custom scripts. Oversee adherence to budgets and estimates for all client projects, including ensuring clients are kept informed of performance to budget. Lead and motivate review teams, including lawyers and non-lawyers. Manage a team of Review Managers, Associate Review Managers, and/or Team Leads. Provide leadership to develop and motivate team members and allow them to assume additional responsibilities and growth opportunities within the organization. Participate in annual performance reviews and objectives for team members in conjunction with Document Review Services leadership. Lead by example on the training and on-boarding of new team members to ensure they are appropriately oriented to Epiq protocols, standards, and technology. Collaborate with peers across departmental functional lines.
Qualification and ExperienceThe candidate should have a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree and valid/active State Bar association admission in any US jurisdiction. Legal qualification and practice in at least one jurisdiction are required. Must have 5 years of review management experience. Law firm or managed review vendor experience is preferred. Understanding of concepts, principles, management, processing, review, analysis, and production of electronically stored information (ESI) as they relate to legal matters. Extensive experience with the administration of document review databases, including Relativity. Familiarity with concepts and application of statistical sampling, email threading, near-duplicate identification, clustering, and predictive coding. Experienced in implementing analytics-driven methodologies, including, but not limited to, standard active learning and continuous active learning. Experienced in leveraging structured and conceptual analytics to search, prioritize, and organize data. Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and the use of formulas, pivot tables, and basic formatting. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including experience leading conference calls and meetings with colleagues and clients. Excellent issue spotting and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Willingness to go above and beyond client expectations.
