Job Overview

A prestigious law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney with substantial experience in intellectual property litigation. This role offers an opportunity to work with a highly skilled team that supports clients in protecting and maximizing the value of their intellectual property assets across various industries.

Duties

  • Represent clients in intellectual property litigation matters, including patent disputes.
  • Manage cases from inception through trial, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct legal research and develop strategic arguments to support client cases.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
  • Collaborate with technical experts, inventors, and corporate stakeholders to analyze intellectual property concerns.
  • Assist in post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).
  • Provide counsel on intellectual property acquisition, management, and enforcement strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of substantive intellectual property litigation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of . patent laws and litigation procedures.
  • Experience handling cases before the PTAB is highly preferred.
  • A technical background, preferably in electrical engineering, is desirable.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in at least one . jurisdiction, with the ability to practice in Georgia, is preferred.

Certifications

  • Admission to the . Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is a plus.

Skills

  • Strong litigation and trial advocacy skills.
  • Technical acumen related to patents, especially in electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Proficiency in legal writing and argumentation.
