In-House Counsel
The candidate will advise the company on a wide range of matters including commercial transactions, intellectual property, regulatory, and corporate matters, with a focus on our services and tech enabled logistics platform. Will report to the CEO but interact with all departments. Will review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of agreements from commercial contracts to employee agreements. Will advise and assist with corporate M&A, benefits, insurance, privacy, intellectual property, litigation, and other legal matters as required. Will stay on top of changing regulations, laws and industry standards and effectively work with a variety of business stakeholders to develop and implement practices and standards that support innovation and growth. Will develop and scale legal operations and compliance initiatives to ensure effective execution in a high growth environment. Will manage outside counsel on related matters when required.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Juris Doctor Degree, with license to practice law in one or more U.S. jurisdictions. Should have experience with a software company including experience with licensing and/or services sales agreements. Should be an excellent negotiator who knows how to keep complex legal negotiations simple and clear. Should have 3-6 years of high-level, relevant experience practicing with a law firm or in-house legal department. Should be highly skilled with negotiating and drafting a wide variety of contracts with minimal supervision. Should have 5 years of relevant work experience (some in-house experience is preferred). Experience with a startup or technology or logistics company. Knowledgeable of legal issues relating to transportation, independent contractors, M&A. Should have ability to self-start, meet deadlines, prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work well with change in a fast-paced environment. Should have strong interpersonal skills.
