Senior Paralegal Responsibilities: Under the supervision of counsel, draft and review legal documents and recommend a course of action pertaining to promotional, spokesperson, confidentiality, sponsorship, sales, marketing, agency, and talent agreements. Develop internal processes and streamline contract business initiatives. Maintain contract records and manage, track, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Act as team representative in key cross-functional meetings and provide first-class service to meet the business needs. Review advertising, marketing, public relations, and promotional materials for legal compliance. Have and maintain knowledge of legal issues relating to promotions, advertising, marketing, talent and music rights, and provide training to others regarding these areas. Trouble-shoot consumer and government agency inquiries. Keep abreast of developments in antitrust laws, FTC, NAD, Lanham Act, etc. Manage contracts in the Icertis electronic contract management system. Assist assigned attorney in tracking and reconciling the departmental budget. Coordinate and oversee the work of outside counsel. Provide back-up support to other paralegals in the Law Department as necessary. Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree Is required. Paralegal certification preferred. Contract drafting and negotiation experience required. Must be technologically savvy and have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point; Experience with AdobeSign, DocuSign, and/or SharePoint is preferred. Experience with Icertis or other contract management system is a plus. 5+ years of prior work experience. Experience in either a law firm or a corporate law department required. Preferred experience, skills, and education that are not required for job but beneficial to role (i.e. bi-lingual): Must be able to draft legal documents that accurately and persuasively represent the Company’s position. Demonstrated negotiation, persuasion, analytical thinking, and problem solving, interpersonal and collaborative skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with outside attorneys and business personnel. Self-starter who demonstratives initiative and creativity in their daily work and can work independently with minimal supervision required. Superior knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and Microsoft Word software; Self-sufficiency in performing administrative tasks. Extremely detail-oriented nature. Must be able to manage a heavy workload, prioritize effectively, and maintain and manage deadlines. Proven ability to manage confidential information and work with discretion on sensitive topics. Ability to adapt and respond to changing conditions within the Company and thrive in high volume, rapidly changing environment.
