A law firm in Florham Park, NJ, is seeking a Property and Casualty Insurance Associate Attorney with 2-6 years of experience in insurance coverage and/or commercial litigation. The ideal candidate must possess excellent academic credentials and demonstrated writing skills. Experience with insurance-related litigation or arbitration, as well as complex business litigation, is a plus. Federal clerkship or New York Commercial Division clerkship experience is also advantageous. The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a client-focused environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Handle property and casualty insurance-related litigation, including coverage disputes and arbitration.
• Manage complex business and commercial litigation matters, including drafting and arguing motions, and preparing for trials.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Provide expert legal advice and counsel to clients on insurance coverage issues and commercial matters.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management and client service.
• Keep current on relevant insurance laws, regulations, and industry developments.
• Maintain regular and effective communication with clients, providing updates on case progress and legal strategies.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and contribute positively to a team-oriented work environment.

Requirements

• 2-6 years of experience in insurance coverage and/or commercial litigation.
• Excellent academic credentials and demonstrated writing skills.
• Experience with insurance-related litigation/arbitration or complex business/commercial matters is a plus.
• Federal clerkship or New York Commercial Division clerkship experience is a plus.
• Must be admitted to practice in New York or New Jersey.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications
