Legal Counsel - Employment / HR The candidate will be providing business oriented legal advice on all aspects of employment law including to: Title VII, the ADA, the FLSA, FMLA and all other federal and state employment laws; arbitration and severance agreements; Reduction in Force (RIF's) and restructuring; employee privacy; workplace investigations. Will be drafting employee policies and procedures; conducting employment law training; conducting or assisting in internal employment investigations; and managing outside counsel in employment litigation. Interact with the Rolls-Royce North America (RRNA) General Counsel, Legal Team, Human Resources, and Management regarding employment and labor related topics and provide legal advice on discipline and termination decisions. Work with outside counsel on employee relations strategy, administrative charges, and employment-related litigation. Conduct and/or direct workplace investigations. Develop and review policies and procedures and provide training and education to all business sectors and functions on employment and labor related legal topics. Work on multiple concurrent HR and Legal projects.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have Juris Doctorate degree /PhD Degree with 6+ years of experience in practicing employment law in a legal environment, in the public sector, and/or in-house with a corporation with international operations. Admission and status in good standing with any State Bar is essential. Experience supporting Human Resources and management on employment matters is preferred. Experience managing litigation and coordinating e-discovery is desired. Effective business communication skills, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills is preferred.
