Senior Attorney - Environmental The candidate will provide advice and counsel to internal clients relating to federal and state environmental and safety related matters. In addition, will direct and collaborate with outside counsel relating to environmental and safety related matters. Subject Matter Expertise in Matters Involving Environmental and Safety Regulations. Provide advice and counsel to internal clients on compliance and environmental and safety related laws and regulations, including the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, OSHA, RCRA and the Pipeline Safety Act. Establish, maintain and strengthen working relationships with clients and outside counsel. Manage outside counsel relating to environmental and safety related matters. Collaborate on complex projects and support others in the Legal department (i.e. attorneys across the Legal Department in order to provide meaningful and practical advice and recommendation to clients). Perform special projects and assignments. Conduct legal research and apply research to facts and communicate the analysis in an easily understood work product to internal clients, including senior management. Review work product of outside counsel. Participate in emergency response activities, including preparatory activities such as drills and respond as necessary as legal representative in emergency situations. Should have Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Must have 8+ years legal experience with a concentration in environmental and safety matters. Must have Membership in the State Bar Association as an attorney qualified to practice law in Georgia. Must have deep knowledge of federal, state and local laws, particularly with respect to environmental and safety-related regulatory matters. Environmental litigation experience is preferred. In-house legal experience â€“ ideally within the oil and gas or pipeline sector is preferred.
