Senior Corporate Counsel Responsibilities: Structure, draft and negotiate in-bound and out-bound â€œoutside the boxâ€ licensing agreements with content providers, automotive OEMs and mobile application developers Counsel on strategic deals, day-to-day operations and product matters in a wide range of legal areas, including intellectual property, open source and product compliance Collaborate with product teams to understand key product and commercial requirements and ensure compliance. Manage outside counsel regarding international agreements and privacy and data issues.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 5-7 years legal experience with an emphasis on reviewing and negotiating software and technology licensing agreements (in-bound and out-bound), and customer agreements. Experience with corporate governance and securities regulations. A commitment to excellence and quality of work. Leadership and project management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, business judgment and strategic thinking. Ability to work independently. Desired: JD Degree with strong academic credentials. Active California bar membership or qualified as California Registered In-House Counsel. Experience working at a top law firm. Previous in-house experience as a licensing/product attorney. Experience with automotive OEMs, mobile applications and SaaS. Experience negotiating international licensing agreements. Preferred experience partnering with operational business units (including Engineering and Product Management) and corporate service departments (Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Tax, Marketing, Business Development, etc.) to ensure appropriate risk analysis and transaction structuring. Experience with issues related to privacy and data security.
