Managing Attorney Duties: Lead the Florida offices in shaping its litigation strategies and programs, in collaboration with the Vice President for Litigation. Build effective working relationships with clients and other environmental groups in Florida and the region. Work with the Policy and Legislation, Development, and Communications staff in our headquarters in San Francisco, as well as local communications and policy experts as needed. Manage, mentor, and develop the staff of the two offices, helping them hone their legal strategy skills, and ensuring that the offices maintain a high quality legal program. Supervise all staff and oversee the administrative functions of the office.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Highly effective litigator with substantial experience in environmental or public interest law, and 12+ years of litigation experience. Admitted to the Florida bar, or timely admittance within 1 year of employment. Strategy and vision balanced with pragmatic approaches to ensure results are obtained consistently. Commitment to making and the Florida regional offices highly effective in cutting edge litigation. Entrepreneurial with proven ability to identify new opportunities that have lasting impact while also working effectively as part of regional and national teams. Experience in and commitment to managing diverse staff by fostering effective internal communication, collaboration, consensus-based decision-making as appropriate, and mutual respect. Demonstrated experience and interest in coaching, guiding, and mentoring attorneys at different levels of their career development to continuously improve their effectiveness. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with experience working with political and community leaders, and the media. Commitment to fundraising and developing ongoing relationships with donors, especially individual donors and foundation representatives. Proven ability to partner with other organizations to achieve objectives and to maintain long term relationships with clients and partnering agencies. Proven ability to manage operations, including budgets and programs.
