Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney to join its Labor, Employment & Immigration Practice Group in New York City. This role involves management-side representation, offering general counsel on employment agreements, wage and hour compliance, employee accommodations, terminations, and related matters. The position also provides an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment alongside a diverse team, supporting both client service and pro bono initiatives.
Location:
Duties:
- Represent management in labor and employment matters
- Provide counsel on employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, wage and hour compliance, and ADA accommodations
- Advise on terminations, separation agreements, and employee manuals/handbooks
- Participate in litigation related to employment law matters
- Engage in pro bono work and contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives as applicable
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple office locations
Requirements:
- 7 to 10 years of experience in employment law
- Proven track record with a portable book of business
- Employment litigation experience required
- Labor/union experience preferred
- Admission to the New York State Bar required; California Bar admission a plus
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to manage substantial individual responsibilities and work collaboratively
- Commitment to building and working within a diverse team
Education:
- Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
- Admission to the New York State Bar (required)
- Admission to the California State Bar (preferred)
