A distinguished law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney to join its Labor, Employment & Immigration Practice Group in New York City. This role involves management-side representation, offering general counsel on employment agreements, wage and hour compliance, employee accommodations, terminations, and related matters. The position also provides an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment alongside a diverse team, supporting both client service and pro bono initiatives.

Location:

  • New York City, NY

Duties:

  • Represent management in labor and employment matters
  • Provide counsel on employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, wage and hour compliance, and ADA accommodations
  • Advise on terminations, separation agreements, and employee manuals/handbooks
  • Participate in litigation related to employment law matters
  • Engage in pro bono work and contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives as applicable
  • Collaborate with attorneys across multiple office locations

Requirements:

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in employment law
  • Proven track record with a portable book of business
  • Employment litigation experience required
  • Labor/union experience preferred
  • Admission to the New York State Bar required; California Bar admission a plus
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage substantial individual responsibilities and work collaboratively
  • Commitment to building and working within a diverse team

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar (required)
  • Admission to the California State Bar (preferred)
