Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a highly motivated Mid-Level Associate with experience in healthcare regulatory and compliance to join its Managed Care team. The team represents leading managed care companies across the United States on a variety of cutting-edge issues, including regulatory and compliance matters for commercial health plans, Medicare Advantage organizations, Medicaid managed care organizations, false claims act cases, and governmental investigations. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney with healthcare regulatory experience who is ready to contribute to high-impact cases in the managed care sector.

Location:

  • Chicago, IL

Duties:

  • Represent healthcare clients, including health insurers, Medicare Advantage organizations, and Medicaid managed care organizations.
  • Handle regulatory and compliance issues for commercial health plans.
  • Advise clients on matters related to false claims act cases and governmental investigations.
  • Provide counsel on healthcare laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Assist in managing and resolving complex legal matters within the healthcare industry.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to prepare for hearings, trials, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Collaborate with clients to provide strategic advice and risk management solutions.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of healthcare regulatory and compliance experience.
  • Experience representing health insurers and other healthcare entities.
  • Strong knowledge of the healthcare regulatory landscape, including compliance with the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Experience with False Claims Act cases and governmental investigations is a plus.
  • OMS (Organized Medical Staff) experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar (specific state depending on office location).

Skills:

  • Strong healthcare regulatory knowledge.
  • Legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
