Real Estate Legal Assistant/Paralegal
The candidate will be working in a practice that specializes in the representation of residential and commercial real estate transactions, including title insurance, lender representation, and developer work. Prepare signature pages for all deal documents. Handle all support aspects of a real estate transaction, title/survey review, UCC research and filings, due diligence, ancillary document drafting, and closing/post-closing procedures. Title and survey review, including reviewing and abstracting title documents, covenants, restrictions and easements, leases. Entity formation. Order and review UCC and litigation searches; prepare summary of relevant findings. Conduct due diligence (which includes organizing documents and summarizing relevant documents and preparing relevant abstracts). Prepare and maintain closing checklists. Assist in preparations for closing and attendance at closings, whether in escrow or in person. Prepare closing binders. Prepare summaries of loan documents and other material documents. Utilizing and working with Dictation/Transcription. Document preparation/Word processing. Greet clients and take all client calls. Handle all calendaring and scheduling for meetings, calls, and ensures all deadlines are met. Organization and filing of all files. Opening of new files. Drafting of general correspondence and engagement letters. Copying/Scanning, binder preparation. Editing and revising documents, including redlining and comparing. Inputting and scanning documents and information into the file database and case management software. Requires the ability to regularly report to work on the days and times scheduled and to stay after scheduled departure hour as needed on an OT basis.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Associate Degree. 3+ years of experience is preferred working real estate attorneys or reputable title company. Must have experience in the following real estate software and online environments: DoubleTime, Propel, WebATIDS, AltaStar, EagleNet, AgentNet, TitleWave. Strong Microsoft Office skills - particularly Outlook, Word, Excel are needed. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
