Litigation - General (consumer)
Min 5 yrs required
Litigation Assistant / Paralegal Responsibilities: Answering discovery, interrogatories and request for production of documents. Maintaining and organizing case files. Managing the progression of cases from inception to final disposition. Preparing and processing correspondence, memorandum and complex legal documents. Scheduling depositions. Preparing medical chronologies. Deposition preparation notebooks. Other tasks as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: 5+ years' litigation experience, preferably Insurance Defense experience. Experience with discovery, preparing for and scheduling depositions, preparing pleadings and discovery, preparing for hearings, trials, and arbitration/mediation, and obtaining and summarizing legal documents are a must. Must be familiar with state and federal court rules, procedures and filing requirements, e-filing, and the day-to-day activities of a litigation practice. Must possess excellent editing, proofreading, and grammar skills. Strong Microsoft Office skills and typing skills are required. Additional experience as a legal assistant, legal administrative assistant, legal secretary, legal executive assistant is also desired. Excellent interpersonal skills.
