Director, eDiscovery Operations
The candidate develops eDiscovery & Legal Hold strategies. Ensures that proper policies and procedures are in place or developed for complying with e-discovery requests and legal holds, and that such policies and procedures are followed, properly documented and continually reviewed and improved consistently with best practices. Participates in ESI identification, preservation and collection, including helping attorneys develop preservation and collection plans, identifying relevant ESI sources, and overseeing the preparation and implementation of legal hold notices. Supervises the selection and retention of vendors such as providers of legal hold platforms and e-discovery services. Oversees discovery management vendors to ensure that quality, efficient and innovative solutions are utilized throughout the stages of collection, processing, hosting, review, and production of electronic and paper records, and maintain oversight of existing providers, with emphasis on securing competitive pricing, managing fee disputes, and supporting new service negotiations. Works with cross-functional legal support teams and business partners to achieve eDiscovery & Legal Hold objectives/goals. Manages and develops e-Discovery Operations Team Members. Must have Bachelor degree and at least 6 years of experience in eDiscovery. Litigation and/or discovery experience in a law firm, e-discovery vendor or in-house position. Should have experience working with legal hold and e-discovery platforms, vendors, forensic data collections and evidence handling. Experience working with cross-functional legal support teams and business partners to achieve goals. Must have experience working under pressure in a fast paced environment. Should have 2+ years of experience contributing to financial business decisions in the workplace. Must have 3+ years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, and/or cross functional team leadership. Juris Doctorate preferred. Paralegal certification desired.
