Job Overview:
A law firm specializing in creditor's rights and residential mortgage foreclosure is seeking an experienced Foreclosure Attorney for a remote position. This role involves handling all aspects of mortgage foreclosure litigation, working with financial institutions and investors, and occasionally traveling within Ohio and Indiana.
Location:
Duties:
- Conduct title reviews and draft foreclosure complaints.
- Manage litigation, including motion practice, discovery, and mediations.
- First-chair contested nonjury trials and handle judgment executions.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Perform legal research and draft appellate documents as needed.
- Collaborate with financial institutions and investors on foreclosure matters.
- Travel within Ohio and Indiana as needed (up to 10%).
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in mortgage foreclosure litigation.
- Familiarity with general litigation and motion practice.
- Real estate or title law experience is advantageous.
- Must be licensed to practice law in both Ohio and Indiana, and in good standing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage cases independently.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Licensed attorney in Ohio and Indiana.
Skills:
- Strong litigation and motion practice capabilities.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing.
- Ability to manage deadlines and high caseloads efficiently.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
