Our firm primarily practices in the areas of personal injury, medical negligence, and business litigation. The Legal Assistant is a position in our office that is equal parts administrative assistant and paralegal duties. This would be an ideal position for someone with some office experience that is a recent paralegal/legal studies graduate or will graduate soon from a paralegal/legal studies and/or business program. Specific Administrative Duties: Answers all incoming calls and greets in-office visitors Processes all incoming and outgoing mail according to specific procedure Sets up new client files and files all documents in hard (paper) and electronic files Schedules appointments for attorneys and staff Drafts cover letters and reminder letters from office templates Sets up conference rooms for meetings/depositions/mediations Stocks and maintains office supplies Travels (infrequently) to local courts to file documents or run office errands Specific Paralegal Duties: Conducts new client intake Orders and follows up on requests for reports, medical records and medical bills Organizes and drafts brief timelines and summaries of medical records Contacts clients to obtain case information Schedules trial activities Other duties/special projects as assigned Job Requirements: High School Diploma required. Associates degree in paralegal/legal studies or similar business field preferred. Preferred Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Proficient in creating, saving and editing ADOBE files Experience answering multi-line phone system Good grammar, telephone skills and office etiquette Punctual Organized Attention to detail Ability to multitask Professional demeanor Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday Oakwood/Kettering area Job Type: Full-time NO PHONE CALLS.
