ProfileParalegal Duties: Verbal and written communications/interaction with attorneys, staff, clients, financial institutions, government offices and businesses. Transcribe dictated legal opinions, legal documents, client letters. Enter billable time, generate bills and manage payments and retainers for attorneys supported. Prepare drafts of deeds, leases and business entity authority documents. Maintain corporate record books, including preparation of annual meeting consents. Coordinate commercial real estate and business closings: prepare draft agendas, transaction documents (notes, mortgages, related security instruments), calculate fees, payoffs and prorations in preparation of financial statements, complying with local, state and federal regulations and reporting requirements. On-line research of municipal tax, assessing, zoning records and registries of deeds. Prepare title insurance policies, remit policies and premiums.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task and work independently as well as collaboratively. Skills required: transcription of dictation, online research of municipal tax, assessing, zoning records and registries of deeds, and proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook. Familiarity with LLC and corporate documents, commercial loan transactions, real estate closings, and title insurance policy preparation desirable.
