Profile

Paralegal The candidate provides paraprofessional legal support and administration of routine legal services matters. Works proactively and independently, within a supervised context, in a fast-paced environment. Works within a structured framework that anticipates and accommodates a volume of varied legal services requests in a fast-paced organization, and will have the ability to adjust to changing priorities. Identifies legal and regulatory risk issues, prepares and reviews documents and reports including contracts, communications, policies, and position statements, as assigned. Assists with legal research and develops educational materials, guidance memoranda, and FAQs for client stakeholders. Works with a variety of teams within the organization and actively supports building relationships with clinical operations and support services alike. Maintain organization governance documents related to bylaws and operating agreements for all Boards of Directors governing firm and its associated organizations. Subpoena response data gathering and coordination, including assurance of appropriate authorizations and/or court orders. Contract management, to include: Assign portal submission contract requests; Prepare drafts of non-complex contracts and amendments, as requested, and based on template provisions and other specific direction; Review non-complex contracts, based on specific parameters; Coordinate and complete Business Associate Agreements (from templates); Participate in audits of contract and other internal reviews; Basic legal research on common health insurance legal topics and development of FAQs, educational materials, newsletter items, and other legal communications on topics of general interest to operations. Develop and oversee an accessible and useful centralized system process for affiliated entity governance documents and authority matrices. Oversee and develop patient bankruptcy/lien responses. Coordinate and prepare drafts of policy updates for Legal and Corporate Responsibility policies. Assist with identifying legal and regulatory risk issues. Gather and review information to assist with the development of client objectives. Develop areas of expertise and company knowledge to improve client services and meet client objectives. Establish and maintain positive relationships with key client contacts, plan operations and other support services departments. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have an Associate degree in paralegal studies or related program. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Should have excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to appropriately prioritize multiple demands. Knowledge of contracting processes and methods needed. Should have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products. Must have 3 years of experience in a legal assistant, paralegal or compliance driven role. Must have CLA/CP certification.
