Medical Paralegal/Legal Nurse Consultant The candidate is responsible for reviewing and analyzing the medical records for our complex personal injury cases. Will create one set of records for each medical provider, with the purpose of preparing documents for litigation. Combine, format, bates-stamp and index all electronic medical records in detail. Create a detailed medical chronology regarding the medical care received by our clients, that can be used for litigation. Analyze the facts of the case as presented in the medical records in order to determine liability, causation and damages. Identify medical conditions that may cause long-term disability and their relation to the legal case. Analyze all prior medical records in order to assess their impact on the current case. Explain complex medical information within the medical chronology in order to inform and educate attorneys. Work with attorneys to provide medical literature to bolster cases. Write a medical summary of what was found in the medical records in order to aid attorneys during the mediation/settlement process. Identify what records we have and what specific records are missing. A running list is kept of all missing medical records and provided to the attorneys and paralegals. Other duties as assigned. Previous personal injury experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and organization skills required. Experience reviewing medical records required. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. High School Diploma required.
