A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking an Insurance Coverage and Recovery Associate Attorney with 3-7 years of experience in policyholder-side insurance recovery and coverage issues. The ideal candidate should possess a plaintiff counsel mindset and be admitted to the California Bar.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle insurance coverage and recovery matters on behalf of policyholders.
  • Analyze insurance policies and coverage issues, including general liability, Directors & Officers (D&O), Errors & Omissions (E&O), and other policy types.
  • Advocate for clients in disputes with insurance companies over coverage benefits.
  • Draft coverage opinions, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on insurance laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients regarding insurance coverage strategies and recovery options.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and client management.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California in good standing.
  • 3-7 years of experience specifically in policyholder-side insurance recovery and coverage issues.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage disputes, and litigation strategies.
  • Plaintiff counsel mindset with a focus on advocating for policyholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex cases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
