Paralegal III
The candidate prepares, reviews, and files transactional, litigation and regulatory documents. Maintains departmental records, including use of SharePoint. Administers and manages submittals to regulatory agencies and transaction counterparties. Prepares meeting notices, checklists, manages internal legal and regulatory compliance calendars and ensures timely submission of regulatory filings for multiple agencies. Position requires extensive interaction with other departments, including origination, development, operations, EHS and contracts. Reviews / makes recommendations on a variety of correspondence and agreements pertaining to transactions and regulatory. Organize/Maintain compliance and transaction records. Works on problems of diverse scope ranging from moderate to complex. Uses independent judgment requiring in-depth analysis of variable factors. Collaborates with senior professionals in selection of methods, techniques, and analytical approach. Little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments. Serves as project/technical lead on small to medium sized projects; may coordinate work of professionals, technicians and others outside of own department.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree. Experience using Microsoft, Excel, Power Point, Workshare and Sharepoint is needed. Paralegal Certificate is preferred. Should have Notary or must be willing to complete requirements to become a notary. Energy industry experience is a plus. 5+ years’ experience, with 2 years minimum of corporate paralegal experience is required. Large law firm experience is an asset. Must have comprehensive knowledge of NERC, FERC, CAISO, CPUC, CEC, and a variety of energy and environmental regulatory and governmental agencies.
