ProfileCorporate Paralegal Duties: Draft and manage litigation preservation notices, including termination of the hold and ensuring deletion of retained data, if necessary. Manage and track the execution of legal documents Research laws and regulations related to credit union operations Assist the executive assistant with charter, bylaw and article of amendment changes. Manage and coordinate with staff on responses to member complaints filed through the Texas Credit Union Department. Assist with grants and filings related to the credit union’s low-income designation. Manage general counsel departmental records related to document retention timeframes as outlined in the Records Retention Policy. Assist operations staff with review of durable powers of attorney, as requested. Assist back office staff with review of subpoenas duces tecum, as requested. Assist operations staff with due diligence review of business accounts, as requested. Provide assistance to the business implementation teams as may be requested. Manage arbitration agreement opt-out notices. Responsible for updating notices of rule changes through Texas Credit Union Department. Responsible for tracking compliance with lease agreements. Assist with letters of intent for real estate transactions. Assist with contract revisions. Assist with regulatory comment letters. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Legal Officer.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience with a law firm or corporate legal department. Certification as paralegal/legal assistant is required. Bankruptcy experience helpful. 7+ years of similar or related experience preferred.
