Trusts & Estate Paralegal RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicate and meet with clients in preparing trust documents, fundings and conducting signing of those documents. Assist with transfer of assets into estate plans. Assist clients in executing their estate plan documents, collect final payments and offer additional services of the firm. Prepare changes and updates to clients’ trust documents, as needed. Notary license preferred, but not mandatory. Understand process of transferring title for every kind of asset. Create funding documents from assets lists provided by clients. Review and proofread all trust and funding documents prior to meeting with clients. Assist at seminars each month, schedule consultation appointments and conduct post-seminar follow up with prospective clients.
Qualification and Experience
REQUIREMENTS: Paralegal certificate or degree preferred. 2 years of experience in estate planning field preferred. Strong proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word. Comfortable with computers and skilled at learning new programs. Attention to detail mandatory. Ability and willingness to work some Saturdays and weekday evenings when the firm conducts public seminars. Highly professional, motivated, self-directed individual who is able to work independently with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Demonstrated understanding of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. Ability to work effectively and proactively in team environment. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently and to meet deadlines. Knowledge of legal terminology and estate planning processes.
