Certification Analyst The candidate will review and analyze certification applications and contracts by exercising sound judgment in evaluating small businesses for certification to ensure accuracy of forms and all required documents have been submitted and are in accordance with the Cityâ€™s Rules and Regulations. Will contact clients via telephone and written correspondence to assist with the completion of the certification application process. Handle confidential information and enter data into client management system. Meet and conduct interviews with business owner(s) to verify application and contract data submitted in the application. Conduct presentations and M/WBE trainings for potential applicants and senior staff. Establish and maintain comprehensive, secure, and retrievable client files. Provide analytical assistance and project management assistance, including developing and maintaining project plans and other documents for team members. Handle high volume of inquiries regarding the MWBE certification program via MWBE certification helpline and the MWBE Certification email accounts. Handle archiving/records keeping tasks. Assist with special projects to implement targeted outreach initiatives, including participating in strategy sessions, coordinating with External Affairs unit and Business Solution Centers. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and university and six months of full-time, satisfactory professional, technical, or administrative experience in one or more of the following fields: human rights, affirmative action planning/administration, position classification, or labor law. A law degree substituted for six months of experience is needed. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a Stateâ€™s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and four years of full-time satisfactory professional, technical, or administrative experience in one or more of the fields mentioned in â€œ1â€ above; or is essential. Education and/or experience equivalent to â€œ1â€ or â€œ2â€ above. However, all candidates possess the four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent is needed. Outstanding writing, presentation, and communications skills are preferred. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and comfortable learning new computer programs; Ability to understand business and financial documents such as corporate by-laws, partnership agreements, tax returns, and bank statements is needed. Experience working with cross-functional teams and diverse groups of people is essential. Legal knowledge in business and financial documents such as corporate by-laws, partnership agreements, tax returns, and bank statements a plus. Fluent in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese or Korean a plus.
