Paralegal IV The candidate works on a wide variety of intellectual property matters and processes, and must coordinate effectively with counsel and other professionals within the Law Department and Mission Systems. Specific responsibilities of the paralegal may include the following: serving as the point of contact for all patentability studies, patent applications, patent prosecutions, patent issuance, and trademark-related matters; teaming with IP committee members to facilitate and support invention disclosure decisions and actions; updating, maintaining, and generating reports from the IP docketing and other law department databases; assisting in the review of non-disclosure agreements and intellectual property terms in contracts and subcontracts; performing legal research; and assisting counsel on special projects as assigned. Associates degree and a paralegal certificate or a bachelor's degree. Must have 6+ years of paralegal experience. Should preferably have strong oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision. Experience with federal government contracts, including working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation is essential.
