Tax Attorney
The candidate will advise and represent clients regarding state and local taxes including income, capital gains, sales and use and real estate taxes. Advise and represent clients with respect to a variety of taxes issues including choice of entity, tax planning in connection with mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions, non-profit organizations, business start-ups, tax compliance program management and trusts and estates. Experience in tax matters including corporate mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; partnerships, LLCs and joint ventures; private equity and private equity fund formation; real estate, real estate fund formation and real estate investment trusts; regulated, investment companies; non-profit and financing and capital markets transactions. Knowledge and experience with international taxation is a plus. Excellent research and writing skills. Organizational and project management skills. Proficient in the use of on-line legal research services and legal resources available on the internet. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written). Must have the desire and ability to be actively engaged in professional activities with the growth of business in mind. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to work cooperatively in teams and actively engage in the professional development of associate attorneys.
