Lead Paralegal Duties: Providing general insurance regulatory and related transactional support for L&R insurance companies (e.g., preparing and managing insurance regulatory filings under state insurance holding company and related insurance laws; consulting on proposed investment transactions involving L&R entities that may implicate insurance regulatory considerations; and providing general legal and regulatory support for L&R functional areas); Supporting the management of L&R insurance companiesâ€™ state insurance exams, and states market conduct filings and regulatory inquiries (e.g., day-to-day management in receiving market conduct regulatory notices and inquiries, coordinating responses to exams, filings and inquiries; liaising directly with regulators regarding such exams, filings and inquiries; and developing and helping to drive strategic advocacy positions in response to regulatory findings and negotiating fair and reasonable exam outcomes); Managing and supporting the L&R business linesâ€™ regulatory monitoring and advocacy function, and providing similar support to other lines of businesses as may be requested (e.g., monitoring legislative and regulatory proposals and emerging areas of legislative or regulatory concerns/risks, in each case that impact lines of businesses and operations); and Managing the L&R business linesâ€™ regulatory change management function (e.g., assess applicability of legislative and regulatory enactments that impact L&R business lines, and effectively communicate the same through established procedures to L&R internal stakeholders).
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have: BA/BS degree required; Paralegal certification required; Expert in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel); Excellent technology skills (will be required to learn and utilize SharePoint sites, Archer and other platforms to meet Performance Objectives); Highly accountable, dependable and motivated; Strong and effective organizational and interpersonal skills; Excellent project management skills with a strong attention to details; Highly detailed oriented with the ability to multi-task and succeed in a fast-paced environment, often with tight deadlines and shifting priorities; Strong capability to carry out tasks with a high level of ownership and accountability, judgment and follow through; Strong capability of working in a team environment and providing team support; and Strong oral and written communication skills.
