Trust and Estate Administration / Litigation and Taxation Attorney The candidate will research legal issues for trust and estate litigation matters. Will draft pleadings, discovery memoranda, motions and other legal documents. Handle trust and estate litigation matters from inception through trial, including taking and defending depositions, propounding and responding to discovery, attending mediations and settlement negotiations. Attend hearings on a regular basis in probate courts. Make independent decisions and advise clients on pre-litigation and litigation matters. Handle conservatorship or guardianship matters from initiation of proceedings to representation of conservators or guardians for the duration of these matters. Handle probate administrations from initiation of proceedings to discharge of personal representative. Communicate with IRS and/or State taxing agency by telephone, mail, facsimile, and/or email. Negotiate with IRS and/or State taxing agency to release wage and/or bank levies. Prepare and analyze financial documents to choose optimal resolution path for clients. Other projects as assigned. Should have at least 2-5 years of litigation experience. Probate litigation experience is preferred. must also be admitted and in good standing with the California State Bar. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
