A law firm in Kansas City is seeking an experienced Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will have 6 to 8 years of specialized experience in labor and employment law and must be licensed to practice law in Missouri. This role involves handling complex labor and employment cases, providing strategic legal counsel, and representing clients in various legal proceedings.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in a wide range of labor and employment law matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour claims, and workplace safety issues.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of labor and employment law cases, handling all phases from initial consultation to resolution.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and analysis to support case strategies and provide informed legal advice to clients.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and employment contracts.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, arbitration, and court proceedings.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal and state labor laws, regulations, and employment practices.
  • Develop and implement effective legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, strategic recommendations, and resolve any issues.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to build and execute case strategies.
  • Stay updated on changes in labor and employment law and industry trends to ensure compliance and provide accurate legal advice.

Requirements:

  • 6 to 8 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Active license to practice law in Missouri.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and advance labor and employment law cases effectively.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proven client management and relationship-building skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Missouri State Bar license.
