Duties

  • Provide legal guidance on Title IX investigations and compliance for public school districts and public agencies.
  • Advise clients on labor and employment matters, including discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct cases.
  • Handle administrative hearings and disciplinary proceedings as required.
  • Collaborate with clients on issues related to employee hiring, contract negotiations, and collective bargaining.
  • Conduct investigations into complaints of discrimination, harassment, and other workplace misconduct.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships with public agencies, ensuring effective communication and support.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on Title IX or investigations preferred.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Interest in working with public agencies and educational institutions.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and work independently or as part of a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Title IX regulations and public agency employment law.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and case management abilities.
  • Experience in administrative hearings is a plus.
