Attorney Advisor, GS 13 - 14
Responsibilities: The candidate will handle duties that include: Renders advice and conducts legal research formulate advice and recommend legal courses of action which meet the needs of both mission accomplishment and full compliance with law and regulation; Provides advice, guidance and other legal assistance regarding inquiries, subpoenas, discovery requests, software licensing agreements, interagency agreements, Memorandums of Understanding and other legal artifacts; Ensures United States Attorneys' Offices have maximum access to all services available under the DOJ-wide Computer Assisted Legal Research (CALR) contract, including Westlaw/LexisNexis resources, treatises, public records, investigatory databases, expert witness materials, automated table-of-authorities, continuing legal education tools, and DOJ Brief Bank; Functions as the liaison with the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts and other Department of Justice components and Federal agencies on matters pertaining to information technology issues involving the USAOs, EOSUA, and DOJ. Ensures nationwide United States Attorneys' access to the judiciary's Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) system, including liaising with federal court management and overseeing agency's Management & Billing System and supervises mechanisms to identify and correct erroneous PACER charges and minimize needlessly duplicative PACER fees; and Provides legal review of OCIO policies and practices and memos (including litigation holds and electronic case records) to ensure compliance with DOJ directives and legal requirements.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: GS-13: Must have 1.5 years post J.D. legal experience providing legal guidance and perspective on a broad array of Information Technology, electronic records, and related litigation holds.

For GS-14: Must have 2.5 years post J.D. legal experience providing legal guidance and perspective on a broad array of Information Technology, electronic records, and related litigation holds.
