Oak Brook office of our client seeks a senior estate settlement advisor with 8 years of fiduciary decision making or fiduciary administration-related experience. The candidate will work with full Private Bank team members including Wealth Management Advisors, Trust Advisors, Private Bankers and/or Portfolio Managers to provide expert advice to the most complex clients in the estate settlement specialty areas. Advises clients on the use of advanced financial products and services and provides efficient solutions to meet clients' needs. Work closely with regional team members to identify estate settlement practices and opportunities. Work directly with outside attorneys, accountants, and beneficiaries to ensure excellence in estate and fiduciary administration. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. Responsible for all aspects of the most complex and largest estate settlement relationships. Work with other partners to retain client base by working with the client service team and partnering with internal and external service providers to optimize effectiveness and efficiency in achieving the highest client service standards. Responsible for estate administration including communication with multiple beneficiaries, communication with outside advisors, and other internal partners. Coordinate with legal and tax advisors. Frequent communication with clients and beneficiaries providing status updates throughout the estate settlement process. Maintain extensive knowledge of current trends and changes in the industry with regard to fiduciary matters (e.g. estate planning, probate, estate, gift and income tax planning, guardianships, special needs trusts, and state-specific law). Handle collection and valuation of all estate assets, filing of probate documents, and distribution of estate pursuant to governing documents, federal and state law, and fiduciary principles. Prepare Inventory and Accountings. Coordinate preparation and filing all required Probate documents. Collect income, pay expenses, and taxes and appropriately settle claims. Advise on tax filings and elections. Coordinate preparation of all applicable tax filings. Distribute assets in accordance with terms of the document. Work closely with Tax Accountants to ensure proper tax reporting. Frequent interaction with various operations teams within the Bank. Demonstrate a sense of urgency for client service and the completion of projects/tasks. Ensure compliance and proper documentation requirements are met, consistent with internal estate policies and procedures regarding business acceptance, discretionary actions, and all other bank policies, procedures and guidelines. Demonstrate sound decision-making skills, including balancing business risk to with client interests. Work on multiple estates and balance competing priorities. May provide training, guidance and education to more junior level estate associates. Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and providing challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth and recognizing and reward employees for accomplishments.
