Paralegal Assistant The candidate will be Reviewing case materials to become familiar with questions under consideration. Will be searching for and summarizing relevant articles in trade magazines, law reviews, published studies, financial reports, and similar materials for use of attorneys in the preparation of opinions, briefs, and other legal documents. Consulting prescribed sources of information for facts relating to matters of interest to the program. Reviewing documents to extract selected data and information relating to specific items. Reviewing and summarizing information in prescribed format on case precedent and decisions. Searching and extracting legal documents referenced in libraries and computer data banks. Attending hearings/court appearances to become informed on administrative and/or court procedures and the status of cases, and when necessary, assisting in the presentation of charts and other visual information. Copying, distributing, and filing documents. Dealing courteously and effectively with senior agency members and their staff, senior managers of other government agencies and their staff, and other individuals. Arranging conference rooms and equipment for meetings. Creating and editing files using Microsoft Office Suite and HTML. Creating and editing presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint software. Must have 3+ years of related legal experience. Experience using Summation software is essential. Excellent customer service skill is essential. Excellent oral and written communication skill is essential. Strong multitasking, organizational, and critical thinking skill is essential. Associateâ€™s OR Certificate in Paralegal Studies is essential.
