The National Psoriasis Foundation is a dynamic and growing non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, the Foundation is seeking a part-time Paralegal. In this position, you will be responsible for helping to identify and assess legal risks to the Foundation and to mitigate the Foundation’s exposure to legal liabilities, including by providing assistance with reviewing, drafting, revising, and editing contracts entered into by the Foundation. Responsibilities will include analyzing proposals and contracts and providing advice regarding potential legal risks and developing strategies to reduce or eliminate such risks; working with internal staff and external third parties on contract negotiations; creating and managing legal contract templates; maintaining electronic and paper file records of executed contracts; working with the Foundation’s outside legal counsel as needed; and assisting with other projects. Requirements include a bachelor's degree, with a paralegal certificate, and at least five years of corporate paralegal experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. This ideal candidate will have knowledge of nonprofit, corporate and contract law and regulation, with ability to interpret its applicability to facts; knowledge of contracting principles and best practices; experienced in reviewing, drafting and revising contracts; excellent legal writing skills; proficient with Microsoft Office products; strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
