Paralegal Assistant Candidate will work in law firm concentrating its practice in debt collection and litigation. Will include: Requesting and preparing lawsuit filings, procuring publication and service fee quotes, obtaining and documenting service deadlines provided by various vendors, performing acts of a notary and processing conformed orders by the court. Review Wisconsin circuit court records validating legal document filing and status. Key various court dates, case numbers and other court record information into firm’s database. Assign appropriate account numbers to legal documents upon receipt. Review and process conformed/authenticated orders returned by the court. Schedule and enter hearing dates utilizing Outlook calendars and the firm’s database. Merge electronic documents requested by attorneys from Firm’s document database. Prepare and organize court filing documents such as ordering and attaching checks/seals, cover letters and misc. documents. Other tasks or duties assigned by manager or assistant manager.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, a solid work ethic, the ability to work quickly, and must demonstrate sound judgment. Must have the ability to work professionally in a team and individual setting. Must be organized and have the ability to accommodate changing requests and priorities. Experience with Word, WordPerfect and Excel is a must. Those without prior law firm experience may apply.
