Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced Construction Labor Law Litigation Associate with at least three years of general litigation background to join its New York office. This position involves managing a variety of complex litigation matters, with a focus on New York Labor Law, general liability, premises liability, and municipal liability cases. Duties

  • Manage a diverse caseload involving New York Labor Law, general liability, premises liability, and municipal liability cases
  • Handle all aspects of litigation from start to finish, including preparing pleadings and briefs
  • Manage discovery processes, depositions, and legal research for ongoing cases
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings, including trial preparation and participation
  • Provide detailed legal analysis and write comprehensive reports, motions, and other legal documents
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies and provide optimal client service
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, opposing counsel, and experts

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • A minimum of three years of general litigation experience, preferably including New York Labor Law
  • Current New York State Bar admission in good standing
  • Proven ability to manage complex litigation matters independently, from case initiation to trial
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Experience conducting depositions and managing discovery processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, dynamic environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active New York State Bar membership in good standing
