ProfileLaw Intern Program Intern handles a wide variety of legal issues, including: contracts and procurement; labor law and ethics; acquisitions, gifts, and trusts; intellectual property; lawful use of appropriated and non-appropriated funds; posting items in the collections on the Internet; and defense of the Library in administrative and federal court litigation. The office operates in coordination with the Library's other legal offices: the Law Library; Copyright Office; and the American Law Division of the Congressional Research Service. Students may work for academic credit. Clerks undertake legal research and writing in virtually all areas of the law that OGC handles. They also participate in meetings with Library managers and other attorneys. Should have knowledge of or interest in the federal practice of law and litigation. The positions are open to 1L, 2L and 3L law students in good standing with strong research and writing skills and strong references.
